The Kibaku Area Development Association (KADA) and the #BringBackOurGirls Movement want the Nigerian Government and the Borno State Government to release the recently rescued Chibok schoolgirls to their families.

They noted that the girls should not be handed over to any individuals associated with terrorist groups under the guise of marriage.

This was disclosed in a press conference held in Abuja to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Chibok schoolgirls’ abduction, KADA’s National President, Dauda Ndirpaya Iliya, condemned the actions of the Borno State Government.

He criticized the confinement of the girls in Maiduguri, labelling it as another form of captivity disguised as rehabilitation and reintegration.
The chairperson of, the Bring Back Our Girls Strategy Team, noted that the government’s refusal to rescue the girls has birthed several other abductions, thereby making the abduction industry thrive in their business

For her part, a Former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili noted that several administrations passed without the complete recovery of the kidnapped girls and urged the Tinubu-led administration for immediate action to rectify this situation and ensure the girls’ safe return to their homes and families.
Ezekwesili in her address also gave a wake-up call to the parents of the kidnapped girl.
Mrs. Rebecca Samuel, a mother to Sarah Samuel who was one of the kidnapped girls, is pleading to the government for the release of the remaining girls.
While expressing disappointment over the government’s decision to arrange marriages for the freed kidnap victims without their parent’s consent, the parent association threatened legal action against the Borno State Government and its officials if they failed to comply with the demand to return the girls to their families.
