Following the orders of Lagis state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the demolition of illegal extensions at the Dosunmu market and its environs have commenced.
The traders were seen running around the area to save their goods.
Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State repeated the government’s commitment to demolish buildings that do not pass its integrity test at the Dosunmu Market.
The governor made this assurance following the collapse of 14 buildings near the two structures that caught fire at Dosunmu Market on Lagos Island on Tuesday.
Sanwo-Olu said that a lot of residential apartments have been converted into warehouses.
After the conducted assessment of the unfortunate incident, it was reported that the fire, which started over 48 hours ago, was still burning.
