Sultan Foundation for Peace and Development, an NGO, has commenced the Town Hall meeting with community defenders against Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Harmful Practices in Adamawa state.
The Two-day Town Hall meeting is targeted to Mobilize Men on issues related to the fight against
Gender Based Violence.
The Townhall meeting engaged Men and Women Right-handers on relevant knowledge to better engage with religious and community leaders to end violence against Women and Girls.
The Spotlight Initiative Project is the sponsor of the programme, supported by the European Union, the United Nations and the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The Foundation’s Programme Assistant, Barrister Amina Mohamed said the training was to identify and discuss the high prevalence of violence against women and girls, as well as strategies on the promotion of gender equitable norms and response to cases in the society.
Barrister Lukna Mohamed Dodo called for moral training to instill the fear of Allah in all their dealings as a panacea to changing people to be upright.
