Nigeria’s opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, cannot fight corruption because is allegedly a product of a corrupt electoral process.
The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, stated this at a press briefing in Abuja, while reacting to the promise by Tinubu to fight corruption.
The President-elect, while inaugurating the Magistrate Courts Complex in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital had reportedly promised to make corruption unattractive to judges and other judicial officials.
However, Ologunagba stated that the opposition, as well as all sensible Nigerians are scandalised and embarrassed, by the President-elect’s comment.
The opposition spokesman further stated that if Tinubu is desirous of fighting corruption, the starting point should be to publicly and personally address Nigerians on the numerous allegations of corruption against him.
