SGF VISITS KWARHI, SYMPATHISES WITH EYN CHURCH OVER MURDER OF MEMBERS (Watch)

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha was at Ekklisiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN) also known as the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, in Kwarhi, Mararaban Mubi of Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State to commiserate with the family of Rev. Daniel Umaru whose family was attacked by unknown gunmen.

The attack had resulted in the death of his two sons and the abduction of his thirteen year- old daughter. The daughter was later released.

The cleric was shot and his wife yet to recover from the tragic shock of the sad incidence.

The SGF and his entourage were at the EYN Headquarter in Hong. In his speech, the SGF said his visit was at the instance of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to sympathise with Rev. Umaru and his family, the church and members of the community.

He further empathised with the family over the melancholic situation and the trauma experienced which was regrettable and assured the leadership of the Church that government shares in their pains at this time of bereavement and that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.

SGF Mustapha said, “President Muhammadu Buhari was deeply saddened by news of the gruesome murder of the young stars”.

He noted that government was working towards ending terrorism and violent crimes in the country”.

The SGF and his entourage were received at the EYN Headquarters at Njairi town by the Vice President Rev. Anthony Addlea in his response, ”he appreciated the SGF’s visit and thank President Muhammadu Buhari for sending the SGF to commiserate with them, the cleric encouraged Federal Government to seek foreign support to adequately quench the ravaging insecurity in some parts of the country”.

While condemning in strong terms the unfortunate situation, the SGF assured members of the community of government’s readiness to defend and protect citizens from such wanton attacks, and request citizens to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely information in order to contain such attacks; and promised that the perpetrators of such heinous crimes would not go unpunished.
