The National Economic Council (NEC) has expressed concerns over the proposed strike by the organised labour and the consequences of such actions on the national economy at a critical time like now.

NEC has therefore urged all members of the council to intensify the options of dialogue with labour leaders in their respective states towards averting the proposed industrial unrest.

This was part of the resolutions reached during the NEC meeting which was presided over by Nigeria’s vice president Kashim Shettima.

The NEC also had presentations from special presidential committees on flood impact and assessment, fiscal and tax reforms and the extent of the palliative distribution across the sub-national levels.

Meanwhile, the office of the accountant General of the federation reports that as at August 31, 2023, the balance of the excess crude account stood at 473,754.57 million dollars.

The stabilization account stands at N34.963 billion Naira while the development of natural resources account balance is N128.330 billion Naira.
