There was sporadic shooting between area boys and the joint security team at Apapa over illegal activities in the area.
According to report, the security agencies, comprises of the Nigerian Police, officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management (LASTMA), soldiers and Lagos taskforce.
Eyewitnesses disclosed that the security agencies arrived Tin-Can’s First gate axis of the Mile 2-Apapa expressway to dislodge miscreants allegedly responsible for criminal activities in the area.
It was gathered that area boys in the area resisted the action, leading to shooting between the parties.
A further report had it that the area boys started pelting the security team with stones and bottles.
Daily Trust disclosed that, “To dislodge the urchins, the task team fired tear gas at the raging crowd of hoodlums.
“Commercial motorcycle riders joined to resist the move and there was sporadic gunshots”
