A leadership crisis has generated an uproar within the Ikorodu Chapter of the Association of Butchers, over the choice of successor who succeed the former leader who recently died.
According to different sources who spoke with newsmen, the cause of the crisis is the alleged imposition of a new Chairman for the Ikorodu slaughter slab.
Sources alleged that the butcher association had appointed a new leader for the association only for some people to influence the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi to appoint a young man and an Ikorodu indigene as leader of the group, against popular wishes.
When our reporter visited the slaughter slab this morning, business activities was completely paralysed while the facility was under lock and key with some angry youths barricading the entrance of the facility with stones and bonfire.
As a result, many customers were locked out of the facility, with some hanging around.
