The crisis rocking the Rivers State House of Assembly took a new turn as twenty-seven members defecting from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state to the All Progressives Congress.
Correspondent gathered that the 27 Members Lead by the speaker of Rt hon martin amaehule announced their Defection at the floor of the Rivers House of Assembly during today’s sitting after reading the Defection letter from the members of the house
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule while reading the reason for the decfection to the APC also spoke on the division in the party with regards to the tussle for the position of the National Secretary of the PDP.
The crisis in the 32-member Assembly had begun as a result of a rift between Sim Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who is now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
