The skyrocketing price of cement and diversion of cement to neighbouring countries from Adamawa state may soon force contractors to abandon work on site.

The project manager of Tritrat Nigeria Limited, Engr. Ganame Ghassan stated this against the backdrop of the cost of bagged cement in the country particularly in Adamawa state where the product is not available.
Engr. Ghassan whose company is the major contractor in Adamawa said if the government do not intervene in this situation the hope of completing construction works will not be achieved and this can also lead to the loss of jobs.
He called on the state to step in to avoid loss of jobs and project abandonment.
He however thanked the Adamawa state government for allowing the company to serve but stressed that there will be a limit to bear loss in the execution of projects.
Meanwhile, some residents expressed worries over the skyrocketing price of cement daily.
A bag is sold for between N9500 to N 10,500 depending on the brand.
