A number of Transgenders on Sunday took to the streets of Nigeria’s capital city of Abuja in a public protest against the government of Nigeria
The protest took place at an open park in the city. Some of the protesters wore T-shirts with inscriptions like “Trans lives matter,” and “Queer rights are human rights.”
They also held up a banner in which they urged the government to focus on issues in the country like insecurity, injustice, and food scarcity among others.
The police were on ground to ensure that the protest was not hijacked by trouble makers.
