NSCDC Bursts Illegal Lubricant Adulterating Site In Rivers State (Video)

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC has discovered an illegal lubricant adulterating site in Iwofe/Rumuepirikom community, Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The illegal site is located right at the back of a functional petrol station on Iwofe, Road.

Four suspects were arrested on site while the Corps is on the trail of the owner of the petrol station.

The NSCDC Commandant in Rivers State, Michael Ogar who led journalists to the site said it was uncovered by the Command’s Anti-vandal Land Patrol Team following credible intelligence.

Commandant Ogar said preliminary investigation reveals that the suspects carved out stencils with TOTAL and MOBIL OIL emblems which are used as stickers on the packaged products before distribution to would buyers.

Ogar hinted that the empty drums meant for conveyance of the products amount to 300 while other drums with adulterated contents amount to 33 drums.

In another development, the Command Anti-vandal Squad has impounded an ash coloured Toyota Sequoia SUV Car while conveying about 24,000 litres of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) concealed in cellophane bags.

One of the suspects Uche Udeh who spoke with newsmen however said they are into buying and selling of lubricants from authorized dealers.

Commandant Micheal Ogar called for the support and cooperation of the public by giving actionable intelligence and information that would assist to nip in the bud all criminal acts so that the State can be a safe haven for all dwellers.
