President Bola Tinubu has met with executive members of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and Trade Union Congress, TUC behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa Abuja.
The meeting which held inside the President’s office on Wednesday, came few hours after both unions staged a peaceful protest in Abuja to air their grievances over the recent subsidy removal policy of the federal government.
It was not clear what transpired at the private meeting but Joe Ajaero, President of NLC, said the President has expressed his position and made some commitment which they have taken side by side with what the National Assembly said and will be releasing a document on their next line of action.
Ajaero said the commitment made by the President today was deeper than what he said during the national broadcast a few days ago.
The labour union will have its National Executive Council meeting tomorrow to look at the broader picture and come up with a position.
