Magnus Abe Wins Rivers SDP Governorship Ticket (Watch)

A former top shot of the All Progressives Congress in River state, Senator Magnus Abe is the governorship candidate of the Socialist Democratic Party, SDP in Rivers State for the 2023 elections.

This is coming 24 hours after announcing his membership of the Social Democratic Party, SDP.

The primaries was conducted in Port Harcourt, Rivers state and supervised by the independent national electoral commission, INEC senior officer, Pastor Emmanuel Isong and other representatives from security agencies.

Chairman of SDP substitution electoral committee, Muhammed Ibrahim, declared Abe winner of the election unopposed with 30 votes.

The former Senator represented the Rivers South East Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

Muhammed Ibrahim, Chairman of SDP substitution electoral committee advised members of the party to go and get their permanent voters card in elect the candidates of their choice.

Princess Patricia Ogbonna, a retired permanent secretary from the Rivers state civil service was elected as the running mate to Senator Abe.

In his solidarity message, the former member of the House of Representatives and a chieftain of the SDP in the state, Chidi Wihioka noted that with what happened in recent governorship election Nigerians could cast their votes and be confident that such votes would count.

The state chairman of SDP, Solsuema Osaro, expressed confidence that the candidature of Abe would make SDP a party to beat in the state in 2023.

Senator Abe was a former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress. (APC).

He said that he left the party in order to seek fortune somewhere else.
