Free health outreach in riverine communities

Over 300 women, men and children have benefited from the medical outreach organized by the Medical Women Association of Nigeria, MWAN, Rivers state branch at Marine Base, as a way of giving back to the society.

The outreach is part of activities to mark the 23rd biennial Conference in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

 

Speaking during the outreach, the President of MWAN Rivers state branch, and a Consultant Public Health Physician, DR Omosievie Maduka said the purpose is to bring healthcare close to the people around the community.

 

For her part, the National President-Elect of MWAN, Dr Rosemary Ogu while highlighting some of the services rendered said despite the focus on Women and children, MWAN also takes care of men.

The people commended the doctors for their kind gesture and for bringing such assistance to their area.
