Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has arrested 32 illegal migrants in the border communities in Katsina State.
The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede said this at Government House Katsina when he visited Governor Aminu Bello Masari. He also disclosed that his agency has illegal immigrants from Niger and Nigeria who use the borders to perpetuate their unlawful transactions.
He went on to warn officers and men in his command that those found aiding illegal migrants would face stiffer punishments.
Babandede said that the NIS is engaging traditional institutions in the state to help since they are closer to people at the grassroots.
