Nigeria’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has promised to work evenly for the country without marginalising any part in areas of development.
Asiwaju Tinubu made this known in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital one Wednesday.
The President-elect is on a two-day visit to the state to inaugurate projects executed by the Nyesom Wike administration.

Tinubu praised Governor Wike for the development strides in Rivers State, particularly for the 12 flyovers constructed across the capital city, saying posterity would kindly remember him.
He said with his accomplishments in the state, Nigeria would need the outgoing Rivers Governor in higher capacities.

Earlier in his speech Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike had drawn the attention of the federal government to the need to amend its procurement law in order to end incessant abandonment of projects that it handles.
The Rivers State governor explained that the current procurement law of the Federal Government only allows for about 15/30 percent to be paid as mobilisation fee to a contractor.
He said such meagre sum usually does not allow the contractor to make appreciably progress on the project before being caught up by inflation effects and high cost of materials, which eventually requires variation of the contract terms.

The event was attended by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and Governors Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), David Umahi (Ebonyi), Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq (Kwara), Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and Hope Uzodinma (Imo).
The President-elect rejected a request made by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, for a refund for the construction of some federal roads in the state.
But in his response, the President-elect stated, “The 12th flyover and the demand you made for refund, I owe you nothing. It is your road.
“You can’t chuckle at me and make a demand. You are the one living on this road. I commend your effort. You have to lobby me to collect it.”
