Umar Lutalo has signed a deal with Ugandan Premier League (UPL) outfit KCCA FC until the end of the 2024–25 season.
Lutalo’s contract has an option for further extension after the end of the current season. Lutalo joins KCCA FC from Kitara FC, where he played in the first round of the 2024/25 season.
He operates as an attacking midfielder and makes good runs upfront down the left wing on top of having a thunderous shot from distance. Lutalo also previously featured for SC Villa, where he spent three seasons and won the 2023/24 Uganda Premier League title.
Lutalo, a versatile player, can also operate as a left-winger and a left-back. He previously featured for the Uganda U20 side (Hippos) at the AFCON U20 in Egypt 2023 and was part of the Uganda Cranes squad for the ongoing 2026 World Cup qualifier games against Somalia, Guinea, and Botswana.
He will largely compete for a position with the likes of Bright Anukani, Sharifu Ssengendo, Saidi Mayanja, Ashraf Mugume, and Steven Munguchi in the attacking midfield role.
