Nigerian born investigative journalist David Hundeyin has said that an investigation is ongoing to unravel the identity of the Bola A Tinubu that attended Chicago State University.
He revealed this in an interview with Lagos based News Central Tv.
This is good news for supporters of former Nigerian Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
DopeReporters recalls that Mr Abubakar had approached the Nigerian Supreme Court with what he called the evidence he is seeking to tender before the apex court.
He wants to establish his allegation that President Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, submitted forged documents to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in aid of his qualification to participate in the presidential election that held on February 25, 2023.
The former Vice President maintained that President Tinubu, by his action committed a twin offence of forgery and perjury, and therefore deserved to be sacked from office by the Supreme Court.
Specifically, Atiku, sought the leave of the court to tender Tinubu’s academic records which he said were handed over to him by the Chicago Chicago State University, CSU, on October 2, 2023.
Now, according to David Hundeyin CSU has started an internal investigation to unmask who Bola A Tinubu was and is.
A cross section of Nigerians say it ‘s really incredible that CSU lacks clarity, so there’s need for a criminal data investigation.
Atiku’s supporters say if Tinubu and his supporters think they will use boldface lies to cover this matter, they should know that they are in for a very long ride.
The thinking amongst quite a number of people is that CSU is proving to be an accomplice in this matter, otherwise how can they not have the visual identity of someone that attended their university.
The question they ask is- Is a means of identification not part of the requirement for gaining an admission?
They believe that there should be other unique identifiers in those documents like dates of births, gender, social security numbers from all the schools involved which could be used to identify who actually is or was Bola A Tinubu.
How can your alumnus become a president of a country and that suddenly becomes an embarrassment?
Question marks are being raised to the effect that even the Bola A Tinubu that attended CSU did not graduate.
And why was Tinubu pleading before now that his academics records in CSU should not be released especially the gender? That if released will cause him irreparable damage?
