ADAMAWA POLICE COMMAND ARRESTS 208 SUSPECTS IN 26 DAYS

Adamawa State Police Command says it has apprehended  208 suspects and recovered 7 AK- 47 rifles and locally fabricated guns among other exhibits.
The command disclosed that out of the suspects nabbed in connection to armed robbery, kidnapping, rape, culpable homicide, 108 have since been charged to court for prosecution.

According to the command, AK-47 rifles, locally made pistol, live ammunition, live cartridges, den gun/pump action SMG gun, motor vehicle, tricycle/motorcycle, military camouflage uniform and hand bag were recovered.
Parading the suspects at the police headquarters, the Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Akande Kayode, said that the press briefing was to update the general public on the achievements recorded so far.

 CP Sikiru Akande Kayode told newsmen that early this year, the command renewed its commitment and designed a security template to deliver on the mandate of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba. He also appealed to politicians for their cooperation as the general elections drew nearer.
According to him, from January to date, the command’s operatives carried out tactical and intelligence-driven patrols, raiding of criminal hideouts, rescue operations, stop and search operations, community policing engagement of stakeholders among others.

He appreciated the government and people of the State for the continuous support they have been rendering to the command, assuring that all the suspects will be diligently prosecuted on completion of investigation.
