Copper Queens captain Barbra Banda has been nominated for the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year 2024 award.
The Orlando Pride forward is the only African player that has made the final shortlist for the prize. Aitana Bonmati, Naomi Girma, Caroline Graham-Hansen and Sophia Smith complete the five-woman shortlist.
Banda will be seeking to become the second African player to win the award since its introduction in 2015. Nigeria and Bay FC striker Asisat Oshoala was the inaugural winner. Fans around the world can vote on https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/ce81vjlge7vo.
Voting closes at 09:00 GMT on Monday, 28 October 2024 and the winner will be announced on Tuesday, 26 November on BBC World Service and the BBC Sport website and app.
