Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of Xavi Simons, sealing a deal worth €80 million, including bonuses.
The young Dutch midfielder, who initially joined PSG in 2021 before being loaned to PSV and later Leipzig, will now continue his career in Germany. Leipzig, which had been negotiating with PSG over the past two weeks, has broken its transfer record to secure Simons’ services, surpassing the previous highest fee of €40 million spent on Loïs Openda.
This move comes as PSG continues to reshape its squad, taking advantage of its presence in Germany following a convincing 4-1 Champions League win over Stuttgart. With €50 million guaranteed and €31 million in easily attainable bonuses, PSG ensures a significant financial gain from the departure of Simons.
Meanwhile, Leipzig strengthens its squad with a rising talent who has impressed during his loan spell, solidifying his place in their long-term plans.
