Wike Speaks At Ministerial Screening

Senate Commence Ministerial Screening

The Nigerian Senate has commenced the screening of ministerial nominees.

The screening started at about 1: 30pm at the plenary on Monday.

The first nominee to be screened was Abubakar Momoh from Edo State.
Engr. Prof. Joseph Utsev (Benue state) as well as acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abubakar Kyari, among others were also screened.

Former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike was also screened and confirmed by the Senate.

Wike after reeling out his achievements, noted that his passion for Nigeria propelled him to accept the ministerial offer.

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, had on Thursday unveiled the list of 28 ministerial nominees.

On July 27, 2023, the Senate unveiled President Bola Tinubu’s 28 ministerial nominees.

The Senate is scheduled to screen 16 of the 28 ministerial ministerial nominees before the end of Monday

The process continues on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
