Pastor Bayo Oluwayemi has called out prophets who deliver misleading prophecies to deceive their followers instead of preaching hard work.
In a recent video shared on the church’s Instagram page, the Senior Pastor of The Word International Christian Centre, popularly known as Wonders’ Chapel, criticized the practice of giving “make-believe” prophecies without substance.
The outspoken cleric threw an open question, asking about the achievements of 2024 after being told it was their year.
“Last year, they said this year is your year; what have you achieved? They know how to package prophecy to deceive you,” Pastor Oluwayemi stated while accusing some prophets of skillfully crafting prophecies that mislead unsuspecting members.
“There are some prophets they are supposed to arrest for making promises that do not come to pass. When they said this year is your year, what is your agenda? What did you lay your hands on? You didn’t learn a trade, go to school, or take any productive steps—it is a deception,” Pastor Bayo stated.
The preacher emphasized that faith without action is ineffective, urging his audience to take personal responsibility for their progress.
“Until you move, nothing may move!” he concluded, encouraging members to focus on tangible efforts to achieve their goals.
The message has sparked discussions online, with many commending Pastor Oluwayemi for addressing a sensitive issue while encouraging self-development and accountability within the faith community.
