Substitute Mawuli Wayo was the hero for Accra Hearts of Oak, scoring the only goal in a gritty 1-0 win over league newcomers Vision FC in their Ghana Premier League (GPL) match day 10 clash. Played at the University of Ghana Stadium on Friday, the match saw Wayo’s decisive strike in the 48th minute secure three crucial points for the Phobians.
The goal, struck from close range, gave Hearts back-to-back league victories, coming on the heels of their away win in Tarkwa on match day nine. Despite being outmatched in experience, Vision FC, coached by Nana Kweku Agyemang, held their ground admirably against the Phobians. Agyemang praised his team, noting that many of his players were recent Senior High School (SHS) graduates who proved their resilience against a seasoned opponent.
Hearts coach Aboubakar Ouattara expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance and stated his intention to “build on the winning mentality” as they aim to rise higher on the league table. With momentum on their side, the Phobians are looking confidently toward their next fixtures.
