VIDEO: SSANU, NASU Strike in UNIBADAN
Academic activities were partially disrupted at the nation’s premier tertiary institution,the University of Ibadan as members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), and their affiliate union, the Non- Academic Staff Union of Universities(NASU),boycotted their duty posts in compliance to a national directive for them to down tools over the inability of the federal government to meet up with a 2009 agreement it reached with the union amongst other contentious issues.
Speaking with Newsmen in Ibadan in separate interviews, Chairman of SSANU Omisore Abiodun -Rasaki and NASU Chair Michael Oluwafemi-Ogunlade urged the Federal government to address all anomalies that had over the years crippled academic activities and ensured poor standard of our schools also warned that it would not relent to embark on a total short down if their demands were not met in the next six days.
