The Nigerian Military has declared wanted Nine members of an emerging notorious terrorists sect, Lakurawas operating in the North West of Nigeria.
Director, Defence Media Operations (DMO), Major General Edward Buba who made the declaration during a biweekly press briefing assured that the military will continue to work decisively to kill the terrorists, stop the insecurity in the nation and ensure the safety of citizens.
General Buba further disclosed that the Lakurawas who are the latest terrorists group in the North West are traceable to ISIS in the Sahelian Region, who capitalized on the collapsed joint border operations with Nigerian security forces at the Niger/Chad borders, which checkmates the terrorists.
As according to DMO, Lakurawas are affiliates of terrorists from Republics of Mali and Niger, adding that they started infiltrating into northern parts of Sokoto and Kebbi states from the Niger and Mali areas, particularly after the coup in Niger Republic.
The public is advised to provide any information they know about the wanted criminals.
