VIDEO: DHQ vows to free abducted Nigerians

The Defence Headquarters has assured that necessary measures are being taken by the troops of the Nigerian military to ensure the safe release and return of those abducted to their families.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba gave the assurance while briefing Journalists on the ongoing military operations in Abuja.

General Buba While described the hostage situation of Babban Sansani, Zulum and Arabic IDP camps in Gamboru Ngala, Borno State and the abductions of students and their teachers in Kuriga Kaduna state as extremely sensitive and desperation of the terrorists to avoid troops onslaught. He also assured that the military will not rest until the hostages are returned safely.
According to Buba, the military is set to leverage international partners to provide the necessary support, especially in the aspect of intelligence to help deal with the situation accordingly.
Speaking on the operational successes in the last week, Maj. Gen. Buba noted that troops neutralised 213 terrorists, arrested 216 and rescued 26 kidnapped hostages, as the troops of the South-South region arrested 67 perpetrators of oil theft, denying oil theft of the estimated sum of One Billion Five Hundred and Fifty Eighty Million Six Hundred and Sixty-Five Thousand and Eighty Naira (N1,558,665,080.00) only.
