The Senior Pastor of The Second Coming of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa, on Sunday urged President Donald Trump to reconsider his Immigration policy.
Pastor Giwa said God is unhappy with Trump over his decision to repatriate illegal migrants to their country of origin.
Upon his inauguration as the 47th US president, Trump had signed an executive order on deportation of illegal migrants in the US.
The executive orders were aimed at shutting down the US southern border to immigration and ramping up deportations.
According to the White House, Trump signed the executive order that “suspends the physical entry of aliens engaged in an invasion of the United States through the southern border.”
The order directs the Departments of Homeland Security, Justice and State to “take all necessary action to immediately repel, repatriate and remove illegal aliens across the southern border of the United States.”
However, addressing members of his church in Akure, Ondo State, pastor Giwa said: “This is a message to US President, please reconsider to decision in sending illegal immigrants back to their countries, I warned you even before you became the president of US.
“I loved you even before you became the US president and I’m glad that you are a child of God. In Genesis 1, after God created man, he said we should have dominion over animals, sea, and the earth.
“And one of the greatest teachings of Jesus Christ is love – he said we should love one another – where is the love Mr President?
“If you are sending the innocent people who have worked so hard to build the US back to their country, where is the love Mr President?
“The Lord is not standing by you on Immigration but is standing by you for eradicating draconian policies that your predecessors executed, the issue gay and transgender – the Lord is happy with the steps taken by you so far
“Please reconsider your decision and quickly heed to my advice. God bless America and God bless Nigeria.”
