Tusker FC striker Ryan Wesley Ogam been named the LG / Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) Sports Personality of the Month (SPOM) for December 2024.
Ogam is currently the league’s top scorer with 15 goals in 14 matches he has played. In December, the forward was in red hot form, scoring six goals.
“I am delighted to win this award and it is a huge encouragement because it shows there are people who see and recognize the work that we do. This will be a motivation for me to keep working hard to achieve the targets I have set for the season,” Ogam said.
To win the LG/SJAK SPOM, Ogam edged out Olympics 5,000m and 10,000m champion Beatrice Chebet who broke the World 5km record on December 31, 2024 in Barcelona.
Other nominees for the award included Makueni Women Representative Rose Museo, who won the East Africa Inter-Parliamentary Games People Living With Disability (PWD) darts title in Mombasa.
Also up for the award were the Nairobi City Thunders duo of Garang Ding and Albert Adera, who guided the team to becoming the first Kenyan side to qualify for the Africa Basketball League (BAL).
