President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi following the passing of his mother, Hajia Maryam Namadi.
In a statement released on Thursday and signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu encouraged Governor Namadi and his family to find solace in the fact that the late Hajia Maryam lived a meaningful life and left behind a lasting legacy of integrity.
According to reports, Hajia Namadi’s death was announced on Wednesday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Hamisu Mohammed Gumel.
She passed away in the early hours of the day and was laid to rest in her hometown of Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State, in accordance with Islamic burial rites.
In his message, President Tinubu urged the family to honor her memory by continuing her philanthropic efforts and preserving her enduring legacy.
“President Bola Tinubu has condoled with the Jigawa State governor, Malam Umar Namadi, over the passing of his mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi.
“Hajiya Maryam, who was the family’s matriarch, died on Wednesday, December 25. She has been buried according to Islamic rites in the governor’s hometown of Kafin Hausa.
“President Tinubu extolled the deceased’s community service and strongly encouraged her family to immortalise her by continuing her philanthropic undertakings, thereby ensuring her legacy lives on.
“In a comforting message, the president urged Governor Namadi and other family members who survived the deceased to take solace in the enduring good name left behind by her.” Tinubu’s statement read.
