“As this chapter closes, I know the best is yet to come—and I’m so excited for what’s next!!!! I am so unbelievably proud of you,” the 29-year-old wrote, before referring to Isaac’s notable time during his first NFL team, the Los Angeles Chargers, saying, “7th rounder gone 7 years in the NFL.”
Issac, also 29, echoed this sentiment in his Feb. 1 retirement, noting how special the number seven is to his career. He was signed with the Chargers after being chosen during the seventh round of the 2017 NFL draft, later leaving the team in 2020.
“I was a 7th-round pick who defied the odds, grinding my way through 7 seasons in the NFL with nothing but hard work and persistence,” he recalled of this time with the Chargers, Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns and the Raiders. “While I’ll always love the game, it’s time to step into a new chapter—one where I take everything I’ve learned and apply it to what comes next.”
Isaac didn’t specify what his next steps are. But he and Allison, who are parents to 13-month old Scottie Bee, previously indicated they are embracing life as a family of three while also looking to add more players to their team.
