Thato Khiba, Stellenbosch FC’s newest recruit, has opened up about his move to the Cape Winelands following his unveiling by the club on Wednesday.
In his first interview as a Stellenbosch FC player, the 28-year-old midfielder, who joins from TS Galaxy, shared his thoughts on the transition and his aspirations with his new team. “I’m very happy to be here and to be part of Stellenbosch Football Club,” Khiba said.
“It’s a beautiful club and town, and an all-round good environment. Stellenbosch is also a real football-playing team so it wasn’t a difficult decision for me to make to join the club.
While adapting to his new surroundings, Khiba remains focused on his personal and team goals, “It’s a change of scenery for me, but, as a player, I have to grow, so I’m very happy to be here,” he added.
“Every player wants to win trophies and I’m hoping to achieve that with the team and to contribute towards that goal.”
Khiba, who will wear the No. 19 jersey, could be in line to make his debut for the Maroons when the club takes on AmaZulu in a Betway Premiership encounter on Thursday.
