The Director General of the Taraba State Geographic Information Service TAGIS, Maaku Joshua, has said the movement from analogue to digital templates in keeping records or properties is in line with best global practices.
Joshua who stated this on Friday in Jalingo, during a capacity building on digital processing of land titling and boosting workforce efficiency and effectiveness, said the exercise was designed to update the knowledge of the participants to embrace the digital way of keeping records.
He pointed out that they have staff in all area offices of the sixteen local government areas of the state who are in turn expected to give background of the exercise including evaluation of the processes.
The DG called on all agencies working with TAGIS to support the initiative of the state Governor Agbu Kefas to ensure that the records of the people are secured.
He, however, said the decision on tax as envisaged by the people would be tackled with a human face by the government, hence the need for Tarabans not to panic.
