Morka Primary School, Obiaruku representing Ukwuani and other other representatives of 7 Local Government Areas have qualified for the quarter final stage of the ongoing Zenith Bank/Delta Headmasters’ Cup Football Competition.
The other seven teams apart from Ukwuani included Bomadi, Udu, Warri South West, Aniocha South, Ika North -East , Okpe and Warri South.
To qualify for quarter for the final from zone C, Morka Primary School, Obiaruku, Ukwuani Local Government Area defeated their opponent, Okporo Primary School, Enwhe , Isoko South LGA 4-2 on penalty shootout, after the regulation time ended 0-0 , while Ika North -East thrashed Oshimili South 3-0 in zone B to book a place in the quarter final.
Also , in zone A final match played at Ogbe,-Otu Primary School, Issele-Uku, Ani-Nshi Primary School, Ogwuashi-Uku, Aniocha South and Obika Primary School, Agbor ended 4-3 on penalty shootout in favour Aniocha South.
In zone H, Warri South emerged winner by beating their hard fighting opponent, Uvwie narrowly by 3-2 at the end of processings and in zone F, Ometan Primary School, Ughoton representing Okpe advanced to quarter final stage after defeating their opponent, Ekrokpe Primary School, Ughelli South by 7-0 while zone D matches between Johannah Model School, Udu and Destiny Academy, Ughelli North was a walkover for Udu as their opponent came for the game close to 2 hours behind schedule.
Similarly, in zone E, Warri South West defeated team Sapele, 5-4 on penalty after the score line was 2-2 at regulation time while Aniocha South triumphed in zone A just as Bomadi topped zone G .
Meanwhile, the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has released the fixtures for the quarter final matches to be played at 12noon and 2pm today. According to the fixtures released, team Ukwuani would seek to consolidate their dominance when they face Warri South at the Government College, Ughelli and that match would kick start at 2pm.
In other quarter final matches, Bomadi would be 12noon today confront Udu at the Government College, Ughelli, Warri South West would square up with Okpe at the Urhobo College, Effurun, while the match between Aniocha South and Ika North-East would be decided at the St. Patrick’s College, Asaba and these matches would be played simultaneously today at 12noon .
