Botswana sealed a double over Cape Verde after winning 1-0 in their matchday four fixture of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers on Tuesday.
The Zebras went into the game having beaten Cape Verde 1-0 in their first meeting three days ago. Playing before a huge crowd at Francistown Stadium, the Zebras were forced to wait until the second half to score what turned out to be the winner.
It was Botswana striker Thabang Sesinyi, who plays for South African club Jwaneng Galaxy, who scored the all important goal in the 69th minute.
The win enabled Botswana to move second in the group with six points while Cape Verde remained last with three points.
