The Uganda U17 National Team’s preparations for the upcoming AFCON U17 Zonal Qualifiers 2024 for CECAFA Region have officially kicked off with the announcement of a 37-player provisional squad by head coach Brian Ssenyondo.
The team is set to begin residential training as they aim to clinch the regional title and secure qualification for the continental tournament.
The players will report on Friday, 22nd November 2024, at FUFA House, Mengo and then proceed to the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru, where they will be based for their training camp.Uganda is privileged to host the tournament from 14th to 28th December 2024, with matches scheduled to take place at the venue to be confirmed.
Competing nations from the CECAFA region will battle for the coveted championship and a ticket to the 2025 AFCON U17 tournament.
The team will be led by Brian Ssenyondo, with assistance from experienced coaches Ronald Ssali and goalkeeper coach Magada Keneth. Fitness coach Massa Simeon, trainer Kizito Dennis and team doctors are Gumisiriza Michael and Kulika Ivan will ensure the players’ physical readiness.
Ddamba Veron in charge of equipment. Mutyaba Bashir will be the Team Manager while Joel Cornerious Kivumbi will serve as the media officer for the campaign.
