A widow has penned an advice to unmarried women as she recounts her ordeal in the hands of her in-laws following her husband’s demise.
The widow revealed that her husband had passed away leaving her with their three sons and adopted daughter to care for.
She revealed that her in-laws had been treating her and her children since her husband passed.
According to her, they had denied her access to their house and had reportedly tried to end their life.
Read her full narration below …
“It’s not my wish to become a widow at this time leaving this innocent 3 little boys and our adopted daughter for only me to Carter for, God decided to call my dear husband home on time, away from sickness and pains😭. But it will be an error for I Uba Princess Chidinma Ugoji to fold my arms and allow my late husband brothers take away what their late father and I labored for.
Since last week I have been denied access to the home I live with my children, my husband brothers went to my house with men of the under world thinking I was inside so that they can end my life and that of my children, unfortunately for them they met my absence inside my compound but unleashed their anger on my staff and my younger sister went away with documents, pushed them out my home almost naked and gave a stern warning that I shouldn’t come close to my house if I don’t want to my family to come carry my dead body. As if that wasn’t enough, they changed my house keys and locked I and my kids outside. With the help of the Nigeria police, they were able to apprehend them yesterday and took one of them to my house and made him unlock their keys so that I and my kids can have access to my house.
I never knew this is what young widows go through in the hands of some Mbano people😭😭😭😭.
Death!!!!! You do this one.”

“I’m back!” Jamie Foxx yells through tears at the start of his new Netflix comedy special What Had Happened Was…
That’s not exactly a novel opening from someone whose last comedy special was over two decades ago (2002’s musical special I Might Need Security), but coming from Foxx, the statement is loaded. In April 2023, he became a fixation of the celebrity conspiracy rumor mill when he was hospitalized for a “medical complication” while filming his Netflix movie Back in Action in Atlanta. Depending on who you talked to over the last year, the reason was anything from near death to actual death to an unsuccessful hit from someone trying to keep him quiet. In the special, he reveals for the first time what actually took place: he suffered from a stroke.
If there was any worry that What Had Happened Was… was going to be a Trojan horse of a title, enticing us with the promise of the whole story before baiting and switching us in favor of observational comedy about seatbelts, it’s dispelled instantly. The special kicks off with a carousel of news blasts and conspiracy videos from the time of his hospitalization before Foxx triumphantly walks on stage and proclaims: “I’m happy to be alive.”
“You have no idea how good it feels, Atlanta!” he says. “I was fighting for my life but I’m here in front of you.” The special, which is equal parts explainer, stand-up routine, and worship session, is Foxx’s love letter to Atlanta, the city he says saved his life.
For months in 2023, the mystery around Foxx’s illness hit a fever pitch, with online blogs, right-wing conspiracy theorists, and pop-culture engagement farmers all weighing in. All this despite his daughter Corinne, who opens up the special with an introduction to her dad, confirming that he was recovering well. Some thought his condition was much worse than they’d been led to believe, with rumors that he was in a coma or suffering from massive disabling effects. Others went a step further and claimed he’d actually died and that the family was keeping the news secret from the public. Anti-vax campaigners latched onto the news and claimed his condition was the effect of the Covid vaccine. And another particularly scandalous, unfounded theory that Foxx had been poisoned by Sean “Diddy” Combs after he was allegedly caught filming Combs’ illicit behavior (Combs is currently facing charges of sex trafficking) quickly gained steam.
“The internet said Puffy tried to kill me. Hell no, I left those parties early. Something don’t look right, it’s slippery in here,” he jokes, in the first but definitely not the last jab at P Diddy in his routine.
Throughout the hour-long set, Foxx is searingly honest about the last year of his life. Until this point, he and his family had kept the details of his condition close, revealing only small tidbits. In July 2023, Foxx first broke his silence, taking to Instagram to tell his followers, “I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates, but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that.” He went on to say, “I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”
He said he wanted to be seen dancing and laughing on stage, which is exactly what he does in What Had Happened Was…. He breaks out into dances and quips with the audience about how well he can move, which has even more power when he details the severity of his medical challenges.
Of the stroke, he says, “It is a mystery, we still don’t know exactly what happened to me,” detailing that he was suffering from a massive headache before passing out. “I don’t remember 20 days,” he says, as he pieces together the timeline for the audience and himself. “He may be able to make a full recovery, but it’s going to be the worst year of his life,” he says the doctor told the family about his massive brain bleed. “That’s what it was, Atlanta. You finally got the full story.”
As with most conspiracies on the internet, the truth is often far less interesting than the most outlandish theories. But less interesting doesn’t mean less impactful, as Foxx imbues with solemn reverence the emotional turmoil of re-learning to stand, walk, and clean himself. Much of the special is a journey back to his faith in God, which he shares like an impassioned pastor on a mount. He leads worship songs and recounts sparring with God, on his journey toward the light, about whether he deserved this pain, telling the enraptured crowd that God worked through his family and doctors to nurse him back to health.
In a particularly emotional moment, Foxx brings out his youngest daughter Annelise, who he says brought him back from the brink of death by playing her guitar to him in his hospital room. She says she always wanted the chance to perform together, and while she plays her song, Foxx breaks down in tears while clutching her shoulders.
What Had Happened Was… isn’t so much a comedy special as a celebration of life. In its funniest moments, like a stretch where Foxx relays an interaction with Halle Berry during his physio recovery and a bit where impersonates the likes of Denzel Washington and Katt Williams, Foxx’s comic timing is so slick you forget he hasn’t done a stand-up set in two decades, while he’s been busy with an acting career that’s run the gamut from his Oscar-winning turn playing Ray Charles to the Spider-Man franchise—not to mention winning a Grammy as an R&B singer. But for the most part, the humor of the special comes through the way Foxx processes his pain, which he is sure to never diminish or disrespect. “I never let go of my sense of humor,” he says of swallowing his pride when it came to recovery. His rallying cry that punctuates the set: “If I can stay funny, I can stay alive.”
In the special’s final, triumphant moments, Foxx takes the most brazenly outrageous conspiracy about him—that he is actually a clone who has replaced the old Jamie Foxx—and turns it into a celebration of self. “‘There ain’t enough clone juice in the world to clone me,” he shouts into the crowd. “I’m uncloneable,” he says, as he cycles through a series of his most iconic roles from In Living Color to Django Unchained to Ray. It culminates in a euphoric performance of Kanye West’s “Gold Digger,” a track he originally featured on, that he successfully rebrands as the ultimate worship song.
The last thing Foxx says before leaving the stage is “thank you.” He thanks his family, his doctors, his carers, the hospital, his audience, and God. He even thanks the people on the internet who trafficked in lies about him, but not before a playful “f-ck you” first. He sings, dances, and takes it all in during a moment of silent gratitude as he processes finally being able to share what had happened.
An anonymous woman has shared a disturbing account of how a pastor took advantage of her during a vulnerable period in her life.
She revealed her experience during a podcast hosted by the prominent preacher, Apostle Femi Lazarus of Sphere of Light Church.
According to the woman, her ordeal began when she attended the pastor’s church for the first time while seeking spiritual guidance during a challenging time. After being prayed for as a first-time attendee, she later reached out to the pastor and confided in him, sharing her deepest secret. This marked the beginning of what she described as a horrifying experience.
She alleged that the pastor invited her to his office, where he gave her a bottle of water that left her feeling dizzy. It was during this encounter that he expressed inappropriate desires toward her.
Although she rejected his advances and left, the harassment reportedly escalated through calls, chats, and unsolicited explicit photos sent by the pastor.
The woman claimed the pastor invited her to his office a second time, offering her another bottle of water, this time already opened. After drinking it, she alleged, the pastor took advantage of her.
The podcast revelation has sparked outrage, with many calling for an investigation into the allegations and stricter accountability for spiritual leaders.

Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso has provided an update on striker Victor Boniface’s condition after the player’s ordeal in Libya.
Recall that Boniface was among the Super Eagles players who were handed inhumane treatment by the Libyan authorities ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifiers matchday four fixture with Libya a few days ago.
The 23-year-old striker spoke about the incident on X, narrating how they were treated harshly by the Libyan authorities before they were forced to return to Nigeria.
However, speaking ahead of Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga clash with Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, Alonso admitted that what Boniface went through was unpleasant, adding that the player has been involved in training ahead of this weekend’s clash.
“We have spoken,” Alonso said in quotes relayed by Frankfurter Allgemeine.
“What happened is not pleasant. But he [Boniface] has had enough time to train.”
Three corps members from Akwa Ibom, kidnapped in Zamfara on their way to their one-year national service, shared their harrowing experiences in their kidnappers’ den.
The victims spent between two months and one year in captivity, enduring physical and emotional torture, including being fed grass and drinking flood water.
Their ordeal began on August 17, 2023, when their vehicle was ambushed along Gusau road, Zamfara.
The kidnappers, disguised in military camouflage and insignia, took them into the forest, where they stayed together with no shelter, sleeping on rice sacs and seeking cover under tree shades during rain.
The corps members witnessed wild animals, killed snakes and scorpions, and were forced to drink flood water.
One of them, Solomon, was singled out, beaten, and taken to Kaduna, where he spent three months without proper medical care.
The victims expressed gratitude to the government, NYSC, and security operatives for securing their freedom. They pleaded for employment in the civil service or other rewarding establishments.
Unfortunately, kidnapping and ransom demands are not uncommon in Nigeria. Another incident involved Ondo corps members who were kidnapped and released after paying N5 million ransom.

Controversial Nigerian media personality and rapper, Speed Darlington has spoken online for the first time since his release from police custody.
Darlington, also known as Api, was released on bail on October 9 after spending five days in police custody in Abuja.
His detention stemmed from a complaint filed by Grammy winner Burna Boy, alleging defamation and cyberstalking.
During an Instagram live session, Darlington claimed the police “did me dirty” and seized his phone.
He emphasized that he holds no grudge against Burna Boy but questioned why a “mature person” would be angered by insults.
The singer also admitted ignorance of cybercrime laws, expressing surprise at their existence.
“Let me just be direct, I have no beef with Burna Boy. I and Burna Boy are not quarrelling, nor are we, enemies. It is the Nigerian police that did me dirty. They are still withholding my phone at the moment, and I do not have access to it,” he said.
“Burna Boy felt like I was spoiling something for him. The amount of effort Burna Boy put into this case. I feel like I am even more successful than him.
“He pays big money to blogs to push him, but I’m way bigger than him. But you, on the outside looking in, would not see it. I am stronger than Burna Boy. Back in 2016, they used to call me gay because I usually attended events alone, and they thought I was gay.

“The same thing happened to Burna, and now he is calling the police. I’m stronger than him. I was not aware of the cybercrime law. It surprised me that such laws exist. It’s childish for someone to get upset over an insult… why would you be angry because someone insulted you?”

In a shocking turn of events, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has revealed how the much-anticipated Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier between Nigeria and Libya descended into a farcical situation due to the actions of Libyan federal authorities and their football federation.
According to Dr Ademola Olajire, Director of Communications for the NFF, the Nigerian team’s ordeal began the moment their chartered ValueJet aircraft departed from the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, at 11:55 am on Sunday, 13th October 2024.
He said after a brief stop in Kano for immigration and refuelling, the flight proceeded to Benghazi, Libya, expecting to arrive around 8 pm local time.
Olajire explained that just before landing, the Libyan control tower refused the plane entry and directed it to the Al-Abraq International Airport, a facility lacking adequate navigational equipment for night landings.
According to him, despite warnings from the pilot about low fuel, Libyan officials ignored the concerns and forced the plane to reroute., saying that upon landing in the remote town of Labraq, the delegation, which included NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau and Edo State’s Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, faced a series of indignities.
He said with no scanning machines or proper equipment, passport checks were conducted using mobile phones, and the luggage took over an hour to arrive.
Olajire added that shockingly, no Libyan Football Federation officials were present to receive the team, and airport staff had no knowledge of buses arranged to transport the delegation to their hotel in Benghazi, explaining that efforts by the NFF President and officials to find transport were met with rudeness from airport security, as repeated attempts to contact the Libyan General Secretary were met with vague promises, which ultimately led to hours of delay with no resolution.
Olajire emphasised that as the situation worsened, the delegation, which included players, officials, and media representatives, were left stranded without food, water, or communication, as the airport had no internet or phone network.
He explained that by midnight, it became clear that Libyan authorities were deliberately stalling the team, citing a false grievance about their own experience in Nigeria, despite the NFF’s efforts to accommodate them during their visit to Port Harcourt.

Frustrated, Olajire said the NFF President condemned the “despicable” behaviour, which he said had no place in football, saying that with the players growing increasingly fatigued and some falling ill due to lack of food and dehydration, Captain William Ekong informed NFF officials that the team was in no condition to play the match.
He explained further that in the early hours of the morning, the Nigerian Ambassador to Libya, Alhaji Muhammad Muhammad, sent support through the Nigerian community president in Eastern Libya, who arrived with a modest breakfast of croissants and drinks for the beleaguered team.
Olajire said after further deliberation and communication with higher authorities, including CAF officials, the NFF decided that the Super Eagles would not proceed with the match, returning to Nigeria to await CAF’s decision on the unplayed fixture.
The NFF has lodged a formal complaint with CAF, calling for decisive action against the Libyan hosts for what it described as an “unprecedented level of hostility” that tarnished the spirit of football.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has pulled senior national football team, the Super Eagles out of Tuesday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Libya after players and team officials were virtually held hostage for over 12 hours at Al Abraq International Airport.
The Super Eagles were held at the airport, which was about three hours away by road to Benghazi, the venue of the Tuesday match against Libya.
This was after the plane carrying the team and officials was heading directly to Benghazi was diverted mid-air to Al Abraq said to be a small airport primarily used for hajj operations.
Howver after the plane landed, the Nigerian team was left stranded without assistance from the Libyan Football Federation.
The host team failed make arrangement to take the team to Benghazi while the vehicle arranged for the trip by the officials of Super Eagles was also not allowed to access the airport.
The NFF, In a statement released on Monday, the NFF explained that the Super Eagles were stuck in the airport for over 12 hours, unable to reach their hotel in Benghazi, located three hours away.
It also noted that the players of the Super Eagles have resolved not to play any longer while expressing deep frustration over the mishandling of the team and lack of support from their Libyan counterparts.
The NFF also stated that the players have now decided to withdraw from playing the match, and that arrangements are being made to fly the team back to Nigeria.
The statement reads, “The delegation of Nigeria to Tuesday’s 2025 AFCON qualifier against Libya still remained at the Al Abraq Airport 12 hours after landing in Libya.

“The chartered ValueJet aircraft was, strangely and in a dangerous manner, diverted to the small airport away from Benghazi just as the pilot was completing his approach to the Benghazi Airport.
“We understand the Al Abraq International Airport is only used for hajj operations. Fatigued players and officials have remained nonplussed as the host Libyan Football Federation failed to send any reception team or even vehicles to take the delegation members from the airport to their hotel, said to be 3 hours away in Benghazi.
“The NFF made arrangements for separate vehicles for the team, but the plan was unhinged by the diversion of the aircraft. Players have resolved not to play the match any longer as NFF officials are making plans to fly the team back home.”
Super Eagles of Nigeria captain, William Troost-Ekong, had earlier indicated that the players may no longer play 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya
Ekong, on social media account expressed disappointment on how the airport gates had been locked, leaving players and officials with no food, drink, or phone connection.
“12+ hours in an abandoned airport in Libya after our plane was diverted whilst descending. Libyan government rescinded our approved landing in Benghazi with no reason. They’ve locked the airport gates and left us without phone connection, food or drink. All to play mind games.
“I’ve experienced stuff before playing away in Africa but this is disgraceful behaviour. Even the Tunisian Pilot who thankfully managed to navigate the last minute change to an airport not fit for our plane to land had never seen something like this before.
“Upon arrival he tried to find a nearby airport to rest with his crew to be denied at every hotel again under Government instruction. He could sleep there but NO NIGERIAN crew members allowed. They have returned to now sleep on the plane which is parked up.
“At this point we have called for our Nigerian Government to intervene and rescue us. As the captain together with the team we have decided that we will NOT play this game. CAF should look at the report and what is happening here. Even if they decide to allow.
“This kind of behaviour, let them have the points. We will not accept to travel anywhere by road here even with security it’s not safe. We can only imagine what the hotel or food would be like given to us IF we continued.
A former soldier, Ruth Ogunleye, while speaking with BIODUN BUSARI, recounts her nightmarish ordeal of alleged sexual assault perpetrated by her superior, at the Nigerian Army Cantonment Medical Centre, Ojo, Lagos
You made allegations of sexual assault against your superior while you were in the Nigerian Army. How did it happen?
This incident occurred in 2022 when I was serving in the Medical Corps at the Nigerian Army Cantonment Medical Centre, Ojo, Lagos. The Colonel (name withheld) was the commanding officer at the time. I had only been in the unit for three weeks when he started sending me gifts, which I refused to accept.
On February 27, 2022, he called and summoned me to meet him at the Eagleston Hotel by 5pm. When I arrived, he said he wanted to have sex with me. He offered me N50,000 to do that and even promised to help me get admitted into a military school. I refused, reminding him that it was against the Nigerian Army’s code of conduct for superiors to engage in sexual relations with subordinates.
After that encounter, he became vindictive and began to maliciously deal with me, subjecting me to extra duties and unjust punishment.
He later began injecting me with largactil, a drug typically administered to mentally ill patients to sedate them.
Were you conscious while he was injecting you?
Yes, but I had no choice. He would either point a gun at me or have soldiers pin me down before injecting me. Sometimes, he would personally handcuff me. He would also instruct the doctors in our unit to administer the drug. After being injected, I would be unconscious for days, completely unable to function.
After sexually assaulting me, he would put me in a body bag and order that I be dumped at a psychiatric hospital.
This happened several times. He didn’t allow me to attend any military courses. He denied me access to school. He didn’t allow me to visit my parents even during festive periods. I didn’t benefit from anything.
Sometimes, he would instruct soldiers to come to my house and bring me. They would come to my house at midnight and give me the injection. There was a time he kept me in his office for four days.
There was a time when the ex-President of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association, Mrs Salamatu Yahaya came to commission a maternity ward at the cantonment where I worked at the time. She came as the wife of the former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Farouk Yahaya. During that period, I was inside the colonel’s office lying unconscious when she came. He knew very well that the NAOWA president would inspect his office. However, that day, I was still feeling very unconscious after he had sexually molested me. He, then, ordered a National Youth Service Corps member (name withheld), who is a doctor in the unit, to give me a particular injection that neutralised the largactil injection he gave me. When I regained consciousness, I saw myself naked.
Did the NAOWA president come into the office where you were?
The woman and other dignitaries were still at the back of his office for the commissioning ceremony, and he was with them. Before they entered the office, the doctor, following the colonel’s orders, instructed me to dress up quickly and exit through the front gate. As I looked back and saw the crowd of people, I realised that was why he had asked me to leave that way. After that incident, the doctor routinely gave me another injection to counter the effects of the largactil injection.
Did he ask you out before inviting you to the hotel?
It was embarrassing because he never did. He was my boss, so, I hardly saw him. In the army, you will go through many protocols before you see your superiors. I was even surprised that he called me because I was new in the unit. Just like that, he asked me to sleep with him without initially asking me out.
You mentioned being ordered to be taken to the psychiatric hospital. What was that experience like?
Most times, I spent up to one month at the psychiatric hospital without being placed on medication. Whenever I was kept there, he would seize my phone and ATM card.
From your account, are you suggesting that your colleagues in the unit were aware of the sexual assault and other forms of harassment you experienced?
Yes. All the personnel in my unit were aware. They witnessed everything because he didn’t hide what he was doing. Some of those who were bold enough to confront him got posted out of the cantonment to the North. At one point, he instructed the personnel in the unit not to speak with me.
There was also a civilian doctor who he asked to write a report that I had a mental illness but the doctor refused. So, he made sure that the doctor got sacked.
Did your colleagues show concerns and wanted to help you at those trying times?
Some of my colleagues asked me to apply for a four-year course that would take me out of the unit. It was expected that after that four years, I would not be posted to that unit again and probably, he might not be there by then.
All the advice amounted to nothing because he refused to approve my application as my boss. I even went to the school – the Nigerian Army Medical School, Lagos – and it was ascertained that I was given admission.
The colonel blocked my application, claiming I was mentally ill. He continued to ensure that I couldn’t progress in my career, either by ensuring I didn’t attend courses or get promoted.
There was a time I also applied for admission at the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport, Benin City, Edo State, but he refused to let me go.
Did you make any effort to escape the sexual harassment and intimidation?
In the army, commissioned officers are not allowed to date uncommissioned soldiers. The Nigerian Army frowns at it, so it is an offence. I was not paying attention to the man at first when he was giving me the injection.
Sometimes, I could get injected thrice a week. This affected my tongue and body system. It got to a point that I was not comfortable with it again. He denied me access to calls. I could not go anywhere. If I applied for any course, he would use his influence to tell them not to give me admission.
After a while, I summoned the courage to seek redress, but in the military, such grievances need to pass through your superior officer. The colonel never forwarded my complaints. It wasn’t until I contacted the current Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. C.G Musa, that I received a response.
However, at that time, he simply advised me to “endure” the situation and did not take any concrete steps to address the issue.
At the time, he had not assumed the position of the CDS. I begged him to persuade the colonel to let me go for a course. Apart from the fact that I wanted to leave the unit, I would not be promoted if I didn’t go to school. Moreso, I couldn’t fight him because if I did, I wouldn’t win.
Later, he intervened and told me that my former boss said I had a mental illness. He told me that he was not in the medical line, so he could not do anything.
He made me to understand that he was an infantry officer, which I knew as well, and advised me not to be in a hurry.
Eventually, after exhausting all options, I sought advice from the Army Legal Service and was guided through the process of submitting a redress for the third time. I also visited the Provost Commander, Brigadier-General M.L Abubakar at Kofo Abayomi, Victoria Island, who was surprised by my story and assured me that I had the right to seek justice.
When my redress got to the board, they just viewed me as someone who should come, talk and leave. I was expecting that they would ask for my evidence. They did not ask for witnesses or evidence. They just decided to allow the matter to die. With this, my former boss continued his act.
What led to your eventual discharge?
In January 2024, after making a video about my experience on social media, I was invited by the Nigerian Army Military Police for an investigation. The Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs. Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, got involved and took me for various tests, including drug and mental health evaluations.
The results were clear – I was not using drugs, and I did not have any mental illness.
During the investigation, the minister asked me what I wanted, and I told her that I no longer had any interest in continuing my military career. She then advised me to apply for voluntary discharge.
However, since I had only served for five years, I wouldn’t be eligible for any pension benefits. The minister promised to help me secure a job at the Ministry of Women Affairs through the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
Later, I was contacted by the Chief of Army Staff, who informed me that the Army would compensate me with a medical discharge that would entitle me to pension benefits.
Were there other female soldiers facing similar sexual assault from their superiors?
Yes. After I shared my story online, specifically on TikTok, some other female soldiers reached out to me. They told me about their experiences and I shared their stories on my page. But, I cannot reveal their identities as they are still in the service. They were too afraid to come forward publicly for fear of losing their jobs.
What steps did your family take during this saga?
I reported him to my dad after I exhausted all the options I had at that time. My dad requested his phone number and called him. When my father asked him why he was treating me unfairly, all he told my father was that he should tell me ‘to obey the last order.’ It was at that moment that I told my father that he wanted to be sleeping with me.
Why did you dare the Nigerian Army to publish the report of the investigation?
I knew the truth of what happened, and I had evidence to support my claims. During the investigation, the military police even confided in me that I had won the case. So I dared the Nigerian Army to make the report public because I believe in the strength of my evidence.
A suspected sex worker who was seen in a viral video undressed and tied to a chair in a hotel in Abuja has narrated her ordeal in the hands of a 30-year-old man, Joseph Efe.
Efe who was arrested for stealing a cellphone from the suspected sex worker, said he committed the crime to raise money for his sister who has sickle cell anemia.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps FCT Commandant, Dr Olusola Odumosu while briefing the press on Friday, said that the suspect was arrested on Wednesday at the Top View hotel in Abuja.
Efe during his confession before newsmen, said that he met the victim on a “hookup site” before inviting her to the said location.
The suspect said he tied the victim to prevent her from getting help as he exited the hotel after stealing from her.
“I tied her so that she would not run after me as I fled. I told her to take off her clothes so that even if she can untie herself before she puts on her clothes I will be long gone,” Efe said.
He added that before his arrest, he had stolen from four victims in Port Harcourt, Lagos and Abuja.
Narrating her ordeal, the woman (name withheld), said that she had been on the hookup site called “coded site”.
”I met the suspect some months ago. I live in Enugu but visit Abuja for other business reasons.
“When I got to the hotel, the suspect asked me if I was afraid of death.
“He said if I cooperate with him he will not hurt me like other girls. He said his friend was outside and if I made any wrong move, he injected me with something.
“I pleaded with him, he slapped me and asked me to strip my clothes. I tried to get to the door but it was locked by him and he held the keys,” she said.
She alleged that he used her dress to firstly tie her hands but when it was not tight enough, he took out a cellophane tape.
“He turned the television volume very high and blocked my mouth with a handkerchief,” she said.
She further said that he stole her phone, unlocked it, forced her thumb on the screen and asked for her bank account details.
She said after unlocking the phone, he discovered that she didn’t have money in the account.
“He warned me not to make any noise and left the room.
“I later noticed movement outside the door and saw the colour of the uniform the person was wearing and was relieved that it was the hotel staff.
“I struggled and dragged myself to the window and banged it hard. Luckily, the guy heard me and I made a sign pointing in the direction the suspect went,” she said.
According to the NSCDC FCT Commandant, it was in the process of the suspect trying to escape from the hotel premises that his movement became suspicious and in the process of trying to stop him, he took to his heels before being chased and caught by NSCDC operatives.
Odumosu said that the video circulated on social media of the lady and the victim in the hotel room was not recorded by NSCDC operatives.
“Let it be made clear that the video in circulation on this incident was not shot by the operatives of the NSCDC as we only became aware of its existence when it went viral on social media,” he said.
He added that after preliminary investigation the suspect and victim will be handed over to the relevant agency for further necessary actions and investigation.
