A Kogi State high court sitting in Lokoja, on Monday sacked the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, His Majesty Alhaji Ahmed Muhammed Tajani Anaje from office.
Although details of the judgement are still sketchy as at the time of filing this report, the presiding judge, Justice Salisu Umar of High Court 6 Lokoja in his ruling directed the defendant to stop parading himself as the paramount traditional ruler of Ebiraland.
The case numbered HCO/05C/2024 was filed by Dr. Barnabas Adeku Ojiah and two others against the Governor of Kogi State.
The judge refused to grant one of the prayers of the plaintiffs, directing the first defendant (Kogi State Governor) to commence a fresh process in compliance with the procedure for the nomination and appointment of Ohinoyi of Ebira land.
The defendants are Governor of Kogi State, (first defendant), Attorney General of Kogi State, (Second Defendant), Alhaji Ahmed Muhammed Tajani Anaje, (third Defendant).
DAILY POST recalled that Anaje was appointed by the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, before the expiration of his tenure.
