The House of Representatives Subcommittees of Public Assets have begun probing assets in Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, as well as moving towards recovering illegally occupied Federal Government Houses in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja,
The House Committee on Public Assets’ subcommittees namely, Subcommittee to Investigate Public Assets under Nigeria Port Authority and Subcommittee to Investigate Federal Government Houses in FCT, Abuja announced their preparedness to commence the investigation following their inaugural meeting.
The Chairman of the Subcommittee on NPA, Ibrahim Ayokunle Isaka in a remark said the committee will investigate public assets diligently in order to ensure the principles of good governance and responsible stewardship of the nation’s resources.
He said, “As we begin our work, let us remember that our mandate goes beyond mere investigation. We are called to promote a culture of accountability to ensure the public assets serve the interest of the people and to restore public trust in our institutions.”
The Chairman of the Subcommittee to Investigate Federal Government Houses in FCT, Abuja, Dumnamene Dekor said the committee will investigate Federal Government houses in Abuja and recover houses and properties illegally occupied.
Decor who is also the House Committee Chairman of Host Communities said the committee will visit the illegally occupied houses, promising that they will carry out the probe diligently with the aim of achieving the desired objectives.
The House Committee on Public Assets headed by Hon. Ademorin Kuye has the mandate of investigating public assets in all MDAs with the aim that the assets serve the purpose they are meant for.
