Players of Delta Queens have been charged to go all out and get victory against visiting Benue Queens of Makurdi in a match day 2 encounter at the Iconic Steven Keshi International Stadium tomorrow.
The Executive Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Mr. Onoriode Oborevwori gave the charge in a interview with journalists in Asaba.
Mr Oborevwori said the players must increase the tempo from its opening match where they lost narrowly to perennial rivals Bayelsa Queens Football Club of Yenagoa at the Samson Siasia Stadium.
He said the players had shown that they have what it takes to claim all 3 points against the visitors.
Mr Oborevwori however assured the players of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to their welfare saying all they needed to do was reciprocate by winning their games as well as qualifying for the playoffs.
He also enjoined football lovers across the state to throng the Steven Keshi International Stadium to cheer the team to victory stressing that the team would need the support of thee fans to deliver on thee pitch.
The Director General of the State Sports Commission, Mr. Festus Ohwojero also enjoined the players to wary of the debutants saying they must not underrate any team but seek to win convincingly against thee Benue ladies as a good win would set thee tone for a better season.
Mr Ohwojero said the belief in thee players abilities was not in doubt but they must show that on thee field of play to get victory stressing that they must not leaves any stone unturned in their quest to return to the summit of Nigerian Women Football where they have been in years past.
He lauded the Technical Team led by former Super Falcons Coach, Peter Dedevbo saying they must remain focused on the task at hand and get a rssiunding victory.
The match between Delta Queens and Benue Queens kicks off at 4pm tomorrow at thee Steven Keshi International Stadium with the Chairman House Committee on Sports, Honorable Emmanuel Sinebe among other football stakeholders expected to be in attendance.
