Dapper Music & Entertainment has responded to allegations following the departure of Shallipopi, whose real name is Crown Uzama, from the label.
This came after Shallipopi announced his exit from the record label, accusing it of distrust, mismanagement of funds and abuse of artist’s rights.
In a detailed press release shared on Instagram, the label emphasized its commitment to transparency, fairness, and integrity in its dealings while addressing the allegations.
The label stated that after Shalipopi’s first album success, he was allowed to renegotiate terms with full legal representation. On October 28, 2024, new terms were agreed upon, granting him the freedom to explore other opportunities while maintaining a mutually beneficial partnership.
Surprised by the allegations, Dapper Music claims to have provided clear financial records and is cooperating fully with auditors engaged by Shalipopi.
Also, it addressed accusations that another artist, Muyeez allegedly signed a contract as a minor. Clarifying this, the label stated that the agreement was signed by his legal guardian and witnessed appropriately.
Dapper Music’s Press Statement
Who says you can’t close a chapter of your life?
Not Selena Gomez, who admitted that she may be hanging up her professional music career. In fact, the 32-year-old recently revealed that music may take the backseat as she focusses on acting.
“I love storytelling, and my music career is separate,” Selena told Saoirse Ronan during their Variety Actors on Actors conversation published Dec. 11. “However, I don’t see that being always forever thing professionally,”
Selena noted that music will always be a constant, thanks for her boyfriend, producer Benny Blanco.
“I’ll always have music in my life because my partner’s a musician,” she said. “And I love singing and writing and having moments to do it for fun.”
The Emilia Pérez star explained that creating music is personal verses playing a character that allows her to be someone else.
“It can be a little vulnerable when you’re putting yourself out there versus escaping into a character,” she added. “Definitely think my strong suit is probably acting.”
Afropop sensation, Shalipopi has announced his departure from Dapper Music, citing exploitation by record label boss.
This development comes on the heels of Seyi Vibez’s departure from the same record label.
In an official statement shared on his Instagram page, Shalipopi revealed the reasons behind his departure from Dapper Music.
Specifically, Shalipopi cited a lack of transparency regarding his personal finances, a conflict of interest that threatened to sabotage his music career, and an unfair ‘forever deal’ as the reasons for his departure.
Additionally, Shalipopi urged fans to dissociate themselves from endeavors involving him and the record label, while acknowledging their unwavering support.
Part of the statement reads,”“I come to you today with a heavy heart. I’m officially ending my agreements with Dapper Music. I had to take this decision after my trust was broken, my finances mishandled, and my rights as an artist were disregarded. I’ve worked hard and deserve to know where my money is going. I was denied access to my money”.

2024 VMAs: Shaboozey Admits It “Really Sucks” Beyoncé’ Was Shut Out of 2024 CMA Awards (Exclusive)
These stars go all out for a beautiful crazy country music date night.
While celebrating the latest and greatest in country music at the Country Music Association Awards, many of the genre’s biggest names are doing so with their loved ones by their side—and the 2024 ceremony will be no different.
In fact, over the years a number of fan-favorite couples have strapped on their boots and saddled up to make their marks on the red carpet.
Luke Bryan—who is cohosting this year’s ceremony alongside Lainey Wilson and Peyton Manning—and his wife Caroline Boyer have often walked the red carpet together, including in 2021 when he hosted and took home the coveted Entertainer of the Year Award.
Last year, country princess Kelsea Ballerini—who is nominated for Musical Event of the Year alongside folk singer Noah Kahn for their song “Cowboys Cry Too”—and her boyfriend, Outer Banks star Chase Stokes, made their official CMA Awards couple debut, with photographers capturing their first heartwarming moments on the carpet.
These Country Music Awards looks deserve some sugar.
Country music’s biggest night is hardly a stranger to drop dead gorgeous fashion. Indeed, for decades superstars of the genre and beyond have arrived looking runway ready. Take, for instance, when Beyoncé served real-life angel in a floor-length sheer gown and huge Victorian-style sleeves while performing “Daddy Lessons” alongside The Chicks during the 2016 ceremony.
Or when Taylor Swift looked like the belle of the ball at her first CMAs in 2007, where she arrived on the red carpet in golden dress that seem to invoke the iconic Beauty and the Beast dress.
And then more recently, Kelsea Ballerini—who is up for Female Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year at the Nov. 20 ceremony—pulled up to last year’s CMAs as Barbie-coded as could be. Dressed in a pink Christian Siriano gown, the “Dibs” singer channeled Margot Robbie’s iconic character with flowing blonde locks, a red lip and of course her very own Ken—a.k.a. boyfriend Chase Stokes—on her arm.
