In their clash with hosts TP Mazembe in the Group A CAF Champions League on Saturday, young Africans (Yanga) put up a fierce fight to earn a last-minute point.
Yanga trailed throughout the whole of the game, but Prince Dube’s spectacular equaliser in the last seconds saved a vital tie.
Cheick Fofana broke the tie in the 41st minute after entering as a substitute in the 35th, just as Mazembe appeared to be winning all three points.
But the Tanzanian side was not going to give up. The ball reached Prince Dube in the 94th minute, and he coolly placed it past Mazembe’s custodian to tie the score at one, sending the visiting fans into a frenzy.
Yanga earned their first point in the group with the draw, but with three games played, they are still at the bottom of Group A.
However, despite earning their second point, TP Mazembe remains in third place, behind leaders Al Hilal and MC Alger in second place.
