The Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Uzodinma on General Services, Ferdinand Uzodinma has admonished the newly inaugurated Local Government Chairmen to carry out human-oriented programmes to ensure rural development.
The chief of staff gave the charge while addressing the leadership of Oru East Local Government Area at the council headquarters recently.
He opined that the Chairman, vice chairman and councillor positions are big assignments, adding that they have crucial roles to play in grassroots development.
Uzodinma advised them not to betray the trust bestowed upon them by the people who have entrusted their fate into their hands.
He maintained that much attention will be given to the third tier of government through close monitoring and ensuring transparent utilization of funds accrued to the council areas.
He added that the All Progressives Congress, APC, is large enough to accommodate everyone wishing to join the party for the overall development of the state.
He, however, pointed out to them that they are now chief security officers of their various Councils and must check anti-social activities in their respective localities.
