Brianna Alleges Emotional Abuse
Brianna has alleged that her relationship with Zach was emotionally abusive.
“The last year of my life has been the hardest year of my life,” she told Dave and Josh on the Nov. 7 episode of BFFs. “Dealing with the abuse from this dude—I’m still scared right now.”
The 25-year-old said her brain had been “rewired” from being afraid to make her ex mad.
“He made me believe everything was my fault,” Brianna continued. “He isolated me from my whole entire life. He wouldn’t let me be who I wanted to be. He made me hate everything that I loved about myself.”
Zach had “love bombed her,” she said, and she ignored multiple red flags.
After four relatively smooth months, she said, he broke her down so that she felt “like he was all I had left, and he just kept repeatedly beating me down and beating me down.”
Brianna also alleged during the episode that Zach’s team offered her $12 million to sign an NDA and stay silent about their relationship.
While she didn’t want money that reminded her of her ex, Brianna said she didn’t decline just to be free to air their secrets either.
Rather, Brianna said, “I’m not signing away my experiences and what I went through to protect someone that hurt me.”
E! News reached out to Zach for comment but has not heard back.
After they recorded, Dave wrote on X, “I know people have lots of strong opinions on Bri but after tonight’s episode there can’t be anybody who doesn’t respect the s–t out of her.”
Brianna LaPaglia’s nickname has been around for longer than you might think.
In fact, the social media starcan trace her “Chickenfry” moniker—which made headlines amid her romance with now-ex Zach Bryan—back to the days of Vine, the beloved yet short-lived, short-form video app that was officially sunset in 2017.
“I made a Vine where I thought my leg looked like a Burger King chicken fry,” she told Joe Vulpis on his Lightweights podcast last year. “And then it went viral, and I’m like, “I’m gonna stick with the chicken fry name.’”
From there, as they say, the rest is history. Because when Brianna attached the nickname to her TikTok username and her hangover videos on the platform began to go viral, she attracted the attention of Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy.
“Barstool DMed me one day,” she remembered. “And I’m from Boston, so Barstool is like Mecca in Boston. It’s like Dave Portnoy’s God where I’m from. So I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh this is so scary.’”

Zach Bryan’s Ex Brianna LaPaglia Speaks Out on Feeling “Discarded” Amid Breakup News
Looks like Zach Bryan ditched the red carpet in Nashville for some pink skies.
The “Something In the Orange” singer shared an update on his whereabouts Nov. 20, the same day he was invited to attend the 2024 CMA Awards, where he was nominated for Musical Event of the Year category for his “I Remember Everything” duet with Kacey Musgraves.
In a photo shared to his Instagram Story, Zach’s dog Jack Daniels sat by the water at a rocky beach, looking off into the distance as the 28-year-old held onto his leash. In the background, a gorgeous yellow sunset painted the horizon.
Meanwhile at the ceremony, Zach and Kacey didn’t end up winning Musical Event of the Year, where they faced off against Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan’s “Cowboys Cry Too,” and Ella Langley and Riley Green’s “You Look Like You Love Me,” the latter duo of whom took home the trophy in the category. Additionally, Morgan Wallen rounded out the category with two nominations, first with Post Malone on “I Had Some Help,” and then for his and Eric Church’s collaboration “Man Made a Bar.”

Shortly after the podcast premiered, LaPaglia thanked fans for their love and support.
“Your messages have made me sob,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories Nov. 7. “I can’t believe how many women and men have experienced the same abuse. You have me, I’ll be a voice for you all always. If I can stand up to someone in power you can stand up to the bum from your hometown.”
She added, “This is all two weeks out so I’m still processing everything I went through. I’ll continued to process and heal with you all! I love you I love you I love you.”

He went on to sing that Bryan “f–ked up” and told him to “go post it on your Instagram Story,” an apparent reference to the “Heading South” singer posting the breakup news on social media before allegedly telling LaPaglia he would be doing so.
Portnoy also joined in, making reference to Bryan’s looks with, “Itty bitty Zach, s–tty s-tty tats / Ugly in the face, there’s no cure for that.”
Bryan first shared the news of their breakup to Instagram Oct. 22, writing in his Stories, “I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways. I am not perfect and never will be.”
“Please respect Brianna’s privacy and space in this,” he added, “and if you have it in your heart, mine too. With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I failed people that love me and mostly myself.”
Shortly after his post, LaPaglia shared how she was coping.
“I just woke up to Zach posting on his Instagram that we broke up,” she said in her YouTube video at the time. “How can you give every ounce of yourself to someone and then be discarded in a few days? I wanted to heal privately and I didn’t even know that he was gonna post that.”
She thanked fans for their messages of support, noting that it was “gonna be okay.”
“I’m gonna be fine,” she said. “I’m just obviously really, really hurt right now. And I wanted to just, like, be hurt for a week and lay in bed, and I just didn’t want it to be public.”
Zach Bryan’s Ex Brianna LaPaglia Speaks Out on Feeling “Discarded” Amid Breakup News
Brianna LaPaglia is leaning on her BFFs following her breakup with Zach Bryan.
After the BFFs podcast cohost (who also goes by Brianna Chickenfry) shared her emotional reaction to the “Something in the Orange” singers statement confirming their split, her friend shared an update on how she is doing and when fans can expect to hear from her.
“(Bris off socials but she gave me the green light for this) she’ll be back Wednesday for bffs,” the friend wrote on her Instagram Stories Oct. 24. “she is with friends and family. I’ve been screenshotting some of your kind words and sending them to her. She loves you.”
The note came over a screenshot of Brianna’s Barstool Sports boss Dave Portnoy sharing a YouTube link of Taylor Swift song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived”—an apparent a dig at Zach—and dedicating it to his BFFs cohost.
In the next slide, fans also got an update on the 25-year-old’s dog Boston, who barked at the sight of Halloween decorations.

Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia doesn’t recommend dating someone in the public eye.
On the same day Zach Bryan confirmed their breakup, the Barstool Sports host’s appearance on Haliey Welch’s Talk Tuah podcast was released and she didn’t hold back when it came to expressing why she doesn’t support people dating celebrities.
“I said on the BFFs [podcast] that I would never date anyone famous ever,” she admitted during the Oct. 22 episode, recorded before the Brianna and Zach spoke publicly of their split. “Literally never wanted to and then it kinda just happened.”
When asked what made her go against her own rule and date the country singer, however, Brianna struggled to find the right words. “Uh, I don’t know,” she stammered. “I wish it … don’t date famous people.”
She later expanded, “I think it’s better for the mental to not date someone famous. It’s a lot.”
Zach, 28, released a statement on his Instagram Story on Oct. 22, writing of his girlfriend of more than a year, “Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart.”
“I wanted to heal privately,” she added, “and I didn’t even know that he was gonna post that.”
Brianna thanked her fans for all of their kind messages, but also asked that they respect her privacy at this time.
“I’m gonna be okay,” she continued. “I’m gonna be fine. I’m just obviously really, really hurt right now. And I wanted to just, like, be hurt for a week and lay in bed, and I just didn’t want it to be public.”
She added, “I love you guys a lot. Thank you all the kind people, and thank you, I mean, genuinely, just to everyone reaching out to me.”
