Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies were unstoppable on Wednesday afternoon as they registered a comprehensive 4-0 win over Central Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) in their second Group B game of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
A stunning brace from Melinda Kgadiete, along with goals from Boitumelo Rabale and Lelona Daweti, was enough to secure all three points for the Brazilians and put their title defence back on track.
The 4-0 defeat means that CBE has now crashed out of the continent’s premier women’s tournament. In the other Group B game, Edo Queens played out a 0-0 draw with FC Masar.
With Sundowns Ladies now on three points in the group, the team will be aiming for more glory as they face Nigerian side Edo Queens on Saturday in their last group game.
Already-eliminated CBE faces FC Masar, also on Saturday, with both games happening simultaneously.
The match between Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and Edo Queens will take place on Saturday, November 16th, at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca. The time for kick–off is 18H00 (19:00 CAT).
