The Confederation African Football (CAF) unveiled a list of nominees in the 2024 CAF Awards for the men’s categories, on Thursday.
Among the nominees is Ronwen Williams, who has been nominated for Interclub Player of the Year, Player of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year. These three nominations make Williams the player with the most nominations in this year’s edition of the awards.
The shot-stopper has a had an exceptional year, cementing his name in world footballand this is why the nominations don’t come as surprise to many.
The announcement of the CAF Awards nominees comes as the 32-year-old is waiting to learn of his fate in the Ballon d’Or for the Yashin Trophy, which are taking place on the 28th of October 2024.
In addition, the Mamelodi Sundowns’ men’s team has been nominated in the Club of the Year category.
The prestigious CAF Awards will take place on 16th of December 2024 in Marrakech, Morocco, where Africa’s best will be acknowledged and celebrated for their outstanding performances on an interclub and international level.
