Pamela Anderson traded the bright lights for a green thumb.
The 57-year-old shared how she was deep into her latest healthy hobby, when she made the decision to return to Hollywood for The Last…

Jim Carrey‘s return to Hollywood has been b-e-a-utiful.
In fact, taking a break from Tinseltown proved to be exactly what the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 actor needed to give him a new perspective on his career.
“I think whenever you step away from something—even if it’s something you love—you get a new appreciation for it,” Jim exclusively told E! News‘ Francesca Amiker at the film’s Los Angeles premiere on Dec. 16. “A different angle on the whole thing.”
As the 62-year-old explained, he’s never taken himself “too seriously,” so he enjoyed the time away.
Plus, the move gave his fans a chance to actually miss him.
“I also value getting out of people’s faces,” Jim said in the interview, airing on E! News Dec. 17, at 11 p.m. “I mean, some people just want to be in people’s faces all the time, and I don’t, so I like to give them a rest.”
On a February 2021 episode of her podcast Empty Inside, the iCarly alum told guest Anna Faris that she decided to stop acting a few years back and is now focused on opportunities in writing and directing, in addition to hosting the podcast.
“My experience with acting is, I’m so ashamed of the parts I’ve done in the past,” revealed Jennette, who detailed her experience in her 2022 memoir I’m Glad My Mom Died. “I resent my career in a lot of ways. I feel so unfulfilled by the roles that I played and felt like it was the most cheesy, embarrassing. I did the shows that I was on from like 13 to 21, and by 15, I was already embarrassed. My friends at 15, they’re not like, ‘Oh, cool, you’re on this Nickelodeon show.’ It was embarrassing.”
Though she hasn’t totally written off a second act. “I do feel like only through writing the book have I gotten to a place where I think there might be a way of exploring acting that doesn’t carry that baggage that I carried with me for so long,” she told E! News in October 2022. “Maybe if I write something for myself. I think that’d really be maybe one of the only ways I could kind of try exploring it again.”
“I feel like every time I say, ‘This is the year of slowdown,’ things just rev up!” added the Twilight actress, who called herself an “aspiring” farmer. “There are so many things that are so important all at the same time, right? Right now, raising babies is the most important thing for me.”
And in addition to her ventures with her husband of nine years, she’s got her socially minded jewelry business Bayou With Love, which she’s hoping to move into a brick-and-mortar location, plus everyday hectic life as a mama of two to deal with.
“Literally, everything is all hitting at the same time,” she noted, “and everything is important.”
But there’s no doubt in her household that she’s got this—whatever this is at any given time.
“I have never met a more resourceful human being,” Somerhalder said of Reed in 2022. “I think together, with our combined skills, we could live forever on an island. You can drop us on an island, and we would be okay.”
“I love Spain so much,” she said in Spanish, as seen in a no-longer-live TikTok posted in late May 2023, per People. Asked if she planned on staying, she replied, “I hope so. Yes, I love living here.”
As for what she was going to do next, Heard said, “I move on. That’s life.”
Months later, she was thriving there, according to her In the Fire director.
“She’s living her best life in Spain with her daughter,” Allyn told People in October 2023, “and just finding happiness in that way.”
And having already said when Oonagh was born that she found no need for a conventional marital set-up to have children, her plan to double her happiness was all her own.
Read on to see why more stars left Hollywood, whether physically or in spirit, under their own steam:
Having a “peaceful place to call home,” she told Forbes, means she can better acclimate “to the faster lifestyle of the city, the high-energy of press events and life on-set.”
When Seyfried has to stay in the city, “It’s been fun to dress up my very neutral apartment with my daughter’s artwork,” she told House Beautiful in October of her NYC pad, recounting how her personal palette was mostly blacks, whites and grays before becoming a mom. But “after I had kids, I knew I needed to go out of my comfort zone. I really, really love pinks and neons.”
She could do without any color on her white kitchen cabinets, though, noting that “if you drip spaghetti sauce on it or even water or coffee, you got to clean it up right away. But nobody is as focused on the cabinets as I am. And that’s okay. I do not fault that, to each their own.”
Seyfried has spoken candidly about her struggles with anxiety and having OCD, telling Allure she still had moments of “debilitating” insecurity when she wonders why in the world anyone is interested in taking her picture.
But she does like the dressing-up part of the business, when so much of the picture-taking happens.
Richard Gere is saying adios to Hollywood.
Indeed, the Runaway Bride star shared his plans to move to Spain with wife Alejandra Silva and their family, playfully telling Jimmy Fallon that their relocation is “world news.”
“My wife is Spanish and—is this a problem for anybody out there?” the actor joked on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Nov. 20 as members of the audience gasped. “Of course I’ll be back!”
The 75-year-old continued, “My wife is Spanish and she gave me about seven years here, so we’re going to spend some years in Madrid.”
The couple, who wed in 2018, share sons Alexander, 5, and James, 4, as well as Homer, 24, whom Richard shares with ex-wife Carey Lowell, and Albert, 11, from Alejandra’s marriage to Govind Friedland. Despite the distance from their home in America, the An Officer and a Gentleman alum gave a good reason why the move should be a smooth transition for the family.
Matthew McConaughey is more than alright, alright, alright about his decision.
Before the Oscar winner earned awards for projects like True Detective and Dallas Buyers Club, he made his name in a slew of romantic comedies during the earlier aughts. And while films like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days paid the bills, the genre ultimately led to his departure from Hollywood in 2010.
“I was the rom–com dude and that was my lane,” Matthew shared on the Good Trouble with Nick Kyrgios podcast Nov. 20. “It was working. But I was so strong in that lane that anything outside of that lane that I wanted to do, Hollywood said, ‘No, no, no. You stay right there.'”
“Since I couldn’t do what I wanted to do, I stopped doing what I was doing and I moved down to the ranch in Texas,” the Magic Mike actor—who married Camila Alves in 2012—continued. “I went there and made a pact with my wife and said, ‘I’m not going back to work unless I get offered roles I want to do.'”
Keke Palmer is thankful to this man—Will Smith, that is.
The Nickelodeon alum recently shared that she considered getting emancipated from her parents at 17 years old while working as a young Hollywood star. However, she changed her mind after an unexpected phone call from the Hitch actor, who gave her a ring while she was on the set of True Jackson, VP, which ran from 2008 to 2011.
“I get a call from this really, really obscure number,” Keke shared on the Nov. 19 episode of The Toast podcast. “And I’m like, ‘What? This is weird, I’m not answering this.’”
After missing the call, the Nope actress—who shares son Leodis, 21 months, with ex Darius Jackson—realized she had a voicemail from Will, who encouraged her to power through after learning of her situation from her lawyer.
“Hey, Keke. It’s Will,’” Keke said while impersonating the Oscar winner. “‘We’re over here doing Karate Kid with [my son] Jaden. I just want to let you know I talked to [your lawyer]. He let me know everything you’re going through, and I want you to know sometimes it’s hard being the first, but you’ll get through. Just keep staying focused, love on your family, and y’all gonna be good.’”
Modern Family’s Ariel Winter Gives Update on Her Life Outside of Hollywood (Exclusive)
Jason Segel’s departure from Hollywood? We’ll allow it.
After finishing his nine-season run as Marshall Eriksen on How I Met Your Mother in 2014, the actor opted to move out of Los Angeles for a quieter life in a small town—despite a string of hits like Forgetting Sarah Marshall and I Love You, Man.
“I was having a really roaring 20s,” Jason, 44, told Hoda Kotb during an interview on the Today show Oct. 16. “I had How I Met Your Mother and I was also writing a bunch of movies that were successful and doing well, but I wasn’t doing a lot of personal check-ins because I was so busy.”
“I realized that art is supposed to be a reflection of what you’re going through,” he continued, “and I actually wasn’t going through much life-wise. So at 33 years old, I’m like, ‘Why am I still writing movies about being afraid of girls?’”
Upon leaving L.A. and heading northwest for Ojai, Calif.—which he described as “calm” in a 2023 interview with the Los Angeles Times—the Shrinking star began doing the soul-searching he craved.
Idris Elba Admits If He Would Ever Join New ‘Black Panther’ Marvel Movies (Exclusive)
Isan Elba is soaking up as much advice as she can from dad Idris Elba.
The 22-year-old—who is the daughter of Idris and ex-wife Hanne Nørgaard—recently shared the best guidance she has received from her movie star father as she pursues an acting career.
“I know it’s so cliche,” Isan exclusively told E! News at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Oct. 15, “but being yourself. But also being very intentional. Do everything with intention because you leave a legacy and come from legacy.”
And while Isan—who was selected in 2019 as a Golden Globes Ambassador, a role for which the child of a famous actor is selected to help with the show’s proceedings—is grateful for her father’s advice, she’s also a typical daughter who gets embarrassed by him.
So, when Idris was featured in a Calvin Klein ad in New York City in February, the pics of the former Sexiest Man Alive prompted Isan to make a TikTok of herself “screaming” in horror.
Nollywood is poised to overtake Hollywood in box office earnings by the end of 2024.
Data from the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) indicates that from January to July 2024, the local film industry captured 50 per cent of the Nigerian cinema to bit N4.64 billion revenue, which is about 34 per cent increase from 2023 earning which stood at N3.05 billion, and 61.6 per cent rise in 2022 which translated to N2.87.
“Nollywood films contributed N2.32 billion total revenue, with 640, 539 ticket sales, slightly outpacing Hollywood’s N2.32 billion contribution, which accounted for 49.95 per cent of the market.
Hollywood films, however, saw lower admissions with 559, 122 tickets sold, representing a 46.61 per cent share of cumulative admissions, compared to Nollywood’s 53.39 per cent,” reported Nairametrics.
This growth trajectory is key considering the harsh economic times and the increase in film ticket prices which is averaged at N3,900.
CEAN president, Ajayi Opeyemi, said, “for the first time, we anticipate Nollywood’s box office contribution to surpass Hollywood’s in 2024, with a projected 40 per cent growth on last year’s figures.
“2024 may witness Nigeria’s first double digit billion-naira revenue at the box office, that is significantly driven by Nollywood titles, and a sector that will be on its way to recovery with first attendance growth in three years despite substantial ticket price increases forced by inflation.”
Projections for 2024 suggest that Nigerian box office revenue could reach N10 billion by year end, up from its N7.34 billion revenue in 2023.
