US-Israeli hostage Keith Siegel has been handed over to the Red Cross in Gaza City.
Siegel, dressed in a black cap, was seen on a stage set up at the Gaza City port, where he briefly waved to the crowd.
The stage was adorned with images of slain Hamas military leaders and a slogan in Hebrew stating, “Zionism will not win.”
Dozens of armed and masked Hamas gunmen surrounded the stage during the handover.
The transfer was reported to be brief and orderly, in contrast to the chaotic scenes witnessed during the release of hostages Arbel Yehoud and Gadi Mozes the previous day.
The Israel Defense Forces, IDF, confirmed that the Red Cross had notified them of Siegel’s handover.
The IDF stated that the Red Cross is now escorting him to IDF and Shin Bet forces inside Gaza, where he will be safely escorted out of the Strip.
Siegel, a dual US-Israeli citizen from North Carolina, was captured with his wife, Aviva, during the Hamas-led invasion of southern Israel on October 7, 2023.
Aviva was released in November 2023 during a previous ceasefire agreement.
