PSG star Achraf Hakimi, who has been delivering stellar performances on the field, recently addressed a serious off-pitch controversy for the first time.
Accused of rape and indicted in March 2023, the Moroccan defender previously responded to the allegations through his lawyer, Fanny Colin, calling them an “attempted extortion.” Until now, Hakimi himself had refrained from making any public statements on the matter. However, during an interview on Anas Bukhash’s YouTube channel, the former Inter player finally spoke out.
Hakimi described the ordeal as a targeted act of blackmail and expressed confidence in the justice system. “I’m honest about this. This is the first time I’ve spoken publicly about it with someone,” he shared.
“Since it happened two years ago, I haven’t said anything. The truth is, when you are successful and things are going well, you become an easy target for certain people. That taught me you can’t trust many people around you. When we put this matter in the hands of justice, we saw it was just a way to blackmail me. That’s why we filed a complaint, and it’s going well. Justice has handled things rather well, and it will soon be resolved. The whole truth will be known, and we will be able to talk about it more.” Hakimi’s remarks highlight his belief in his innocence and his determination to see the case resolved through legal means.
